Richardson's Fish City Grill

A Fresh Take on Seafood

0

Fish City Grill opened just over a year ago in Richardson and it’s evident that their fresh take on seafood and unique communal aspects will make this restaurant a Richardson favorite. Dedicated to scratch cooking and fresh fish, each dish is made in house and it shows from their endless customization options and flexible menu which represents the fish that are in season. The high quality service, friendly staff members, and upbeat environment is a result of the careful cultivation of their brand’s image over twenty-one years which focuses on friendly folks and serious food. Bill and Lovett Bayne run their company with love for food and friendships that overflows into each Fish City Grill.

They desire for their company to mirror the personality and taste buds of each neighborhood therefore, they have one set menu that connects each location and a chalkboard that gives each location creative license. Because Fish City Grill is committed to the neighborhood in which each restaurant resides, they have a First Tuesday’s promotion which donates 15% of their profits to a local charity.

In order to invite newcomers, Fish City Grill offers a “welcome-wagon” to any new diners. This includes a sampling of their tasty soups and their famous oyster nachos. Sprung from the mind of Bill Bayne himself and something you’ll likely order again, the nachos are a crowd favorite. For people looking for a warm welcome and a new regular restaurant, Fish City Grill greets you with open arms and a fun little appetizer to kick things off.

When I went to discuss the Richardson location Fish City Grill with Gje Greene-Wallace, head of the Marketing Department, she showed me how eating at a Fish City Grill can be a restaurant where a customer can order the same delicious dish or have a new experience every time. On the set menu, the restaurant provides well-seasoned and downright scrumptious dishes like Serafin’s Fish Tacos, Fish and Chips, or Honey Chipotle Shrimp Tacos. Diners who are looking for a safe bet for a tasty plate, these three options won’t disappoint.

But for the adventurous eater, the Richardson location has an oyster bar and a creative chalkboard to satisfy your inner explorer. The highest quality oysters can be served raw all year due to the care they take to ensure they stay at the proper temperature from sea to plate. Ordering different types of oysters like Bluepoint from New Jersey or Duxbury from Massachusetts, you can become an expert and enjoy each oyster like a fine wine. Or stick to a customer favorite like the chargrilled cajun inspired oysters that are loaded with parmesan cheese, lemon pepper, and butter. Take it from someone new to the oyster scene, if you want to test the waters, Fish City Grill is a safe bet to get high quality oysters packed with flavor.

Even if your friends and family don’t like seafood, Fish City Grill offers several items that won’t disappoint. Their Darn-Good Burger is something Gje recommended explaining that “if you are going to have a burger at a seafood restaurant, it better be darn good.” So don’t let your friends keep you landlocked, bring them out knowing they will find something not only they can order but want to order.

The Richardson location is perfect for summer with strung lights and adirondack chairs to enjoy a relaxing evening. Their bar offers a kickin’ house margarita which they call the gold margarita and a fun take on the bloody mary which they garnishes with a fresh shrimp in your beverage. Their bar opens to a porch allowing indoor and outdoor seating at the bar and the restaurant. On a beautiful night in Richardson, you can bet the patio will be filled with your fun-loving neighbors. Needless to say, Fish City Grill in Richardson brings the ocean to you with their fresh fish and atmosphere.
